About Dr. Brittany Jacobson
Hi! I’m Dr. Jacobson.
I’m passionate about helping people reclaim their sense of safety, confidence, and aliveness after trauma and adversity.
I’m deeply drawn to this work because I’ve seen how trauma and adversity can shrink a person’s life—disconnecting them from their bodies, their relationships, and their sense of possibility. What energizes me most is helping people reclaim what was taken from them, and supporting my clients in living more fully in the present rather than being held back by the past.
Many of the people I work with feel anxious, burdened by shame, or are relentlessly hard on themselves. They may find themselves stuck in unfulfilling relationships, constantly on edge, or living in a body that never truly relaxes. They often want things to change but are unsure how to move forward, even after trying therapy or other approaches before.
How I Approach Healing + Lasting Change
My work integrates mind–body healing to support change that goes deeper than insight alone. Rather than pushing yourself harder or simply managing symptoms, we focus on cultivating safety, self-trust, and a compassionate connection to yourself. As this foundation grows, clients often feel calmer and more energized. They begin to choose themselves in new ways by setting boundaries, ending unhealthy relationships, reconnecting with pleasure and desire, pursuing postponed dreams, and creating lives that feel expansive and authentic. This work isn’t only about calming the nervous system; it’s also about expanding what feels possible and feeling genuinely excited to live your life!
What It’s Like to Work with Me
At the heart of my work is a commitment to instilling hope and helping people unburden themselves from the past so they can live their most peaceful, free, and empowered lives. In therapy, you can expect me to be compassionate, honest, and your biggest advocate. We’ll tend to the heavy parts—grief, old wounds, and self-critical patterns—and we’ll laugh too! I believe humor belongs in the healing process, because life can be hard enough as it is. Even in a world that includes loss and pain, there is room for joy. And I love helping people find it again.
My Training + Experience
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience supporting adults through trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I’m also a meditation teacher, hypnotherapist, certified sex therapist, and yoga teacher, allowing me to integrate evidence-based and mind–body approaches in a way that’s tailored to you. My background includes working with veterans and individuals from diverse and marginalized communities, which has deepened my understanding of how trauma, identity, and systemic stressors shape healing. All of this means you don’t have to compartmentalize your concerns. We can address what’s happening in your mind, body, relationships, and life as a whole. I bring a broad foundation of clinical training that allows me to truly personalize your therapy and support healing that feels integrated, grounded, and whole. If something in you is ready for change, I’d be honored to support you in that process.
